Sunday September 15th, 2002        Pennsylvania State Theatre  Easton, PA

It was raining on Sunday.  I had a two hour ride to the theatre with my friend in the car.  With Amy blaring and me singing all the way...we made our way in time to pick up our tickets and backstage passes with only moments to spare before the Meet and Greet.

We stood with other friends we met up with in line to go back.

Our time spent with Amy backstage was really special as a few of my friends had never had the opportunity to meet Amy.  So, I stepped back and let them have their "moment".  The pictures taken were many and the conversations with Amy were special!  Her and I talked of our first meeting and her mom and dad and ofcourse Vince and little Corrina who is two weeks (to the day) older than my son.

Shortly after this Amy graced the stage in jeans, sandals and a fabulous top that had an amazing leather type look to it.

With candles glowing on a stool to her left...she began!  It was truly the best show I have ever seen her do.  Taking us back in years with songs such as "My Father's Eyes" and "El Shaddai" it was clear that this would a show for the long time fans to remember and experience this incredible musical journey all over again.  Her performance included such well known songs as "Wise Up", "Find a Way" and "Baby Baby".

The conversation between Amy and the audience was rich with history and simple lessons that Amy shared with fondness in her voice.

Vince was along for the show and performed a few songs including one not released yet entitled, "In These Last Few Days".  He is an amazingly talented man who if you ever have the opportunity to meet and hug is truly a gentle, humble and "teddybear"- like man.

Amy finished her show and as the applause and cheers and whistles continued...her band reclaimed their places on stage and the entire audience errupted.  Then from the right corner came Amy carrying little Corrina.  More cheers!

As they sang...Corrina stole the show as she grabbed the microphone with defined purpose and began to sing.  Amy laughed, we all did.  Moments later Corrina and Momma danced facing each other on stage.  Finally Corrina made her way to "Papa Vince" as the song came to a close.

They all waved, said goodnight and gracefully exited the stage for the last time.

Truly a show not to be missed if at all possible!  For the long time "fan" or "friend" of Amy's this is a night of cherished memories..new discoveries, laughs, tears and moments when the love and spirit of God will wash over you.  To those who have newly discovered this veteran singer/performer...what a musical diary of the songs that tell a story of the heart of Amy.  Her life, her faith, her thoughts...a window into the real person behind the song that comes to us over the car stereo or through our speakers in our home!

May God continue to richly bless every fiber of her being...my dear dear friend, Amy Lee Grant Gill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Until the next time Ame...I sure do love ya!
