~ ALWAYS MY YEARNING ~
An honest walk with the Lord should leave us always yearning to walk in His will. It should be the constant desire to stay connected to Him in various ways...prayer, witnessing, being humble, obedient and last but not least...by spending time in His word.
Scripture is far more than something promoted in Sunday School for the kids to memorize. Far more than merely a reference point during a sermon. More than just a discussion piece!
It is God's word to us. To lean on, to listen to, to take with us through every day of our life! A written reminder of just how much God loves us and how close He is to us every second, without exception!
So here I post the first of many pieces of scripture! May it comfort you, lead you, excite you, remind you and lift you up!
God Bless Y'all!
Saturday September 21, 2002 Scripture ~ John 7:14-18
~ Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me. If any man will do His will, he shall know the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
For our affliction, which is but for a moment, will bring to us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporary; but the things which are not seen are eternal. ~ 2Corinthians 4:17-18
The scripture above is one that has been used in a book I have just read in the last day. I wanted to share a powerful "snip it" from this book. It is called "Heaven...Close Encounters of the God Kind". Written by Jesse Duplantis. It can be found online at www.barnesandnoble.com and purchased for 11.99...WELL WORTH THE 11.99...IT WILL CHANGE YOUR FAITH AND YOUR LIFE!
Quote...~ "I said to Paul, "You went through great persecution." "Yes," he answered, "but I kept the faith. I focused my life on faith. That's how you get things done." The next statement he made is one I have used in sermons. He said, "Our affliction is but for a moment. People have made it a lifetime. Change it back to a moment."......Paul continued speaking to me, "Change it back to a moment, Jesse." Then he whispered, "Change it back to a moment. Don't leave it a lifetime. I've kept the faith, and that's how it's done. And it worked."........Then he smiled at me and said, "Never change the message because of the hearers. Speak what God gives you."
